Plagiarism Policy

Introduction:

At [Instrumentation], we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. Plagiarism undermines the principles of originality, honesty, and fairness in scholarly work. This policy outlines our stance on plagiarism and the consequences for authors found to have engaged in such misconduct.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the act of presenting someone else's work, ideas, or intellectual property as one's own without proper acknowledgment or attribution. This includes, but is not limited to:

Copying verbatim content from another source without quotation marks or proper citation.

Paraphrasing or summarizing someone else's work without appropriate attribution.

Using images, figures, or tables without obtaining permission or giving proper credit.

Submitting a manuscript that substantially overlaps with another published work, including self-plagiarism.

Consequences of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is a serious academic misconduct and violates the ethical principles of scholarly publishing. At [Journal Name], we take plagiarism allegations seriously. The following actions will be taken if plagiarism is detected:

Preliminary Investigation: Upon suspicion of plagiarism, the manuscript will undergo a thorough investigation by the editorial office.

Confirmation of Plagiarism: If plagiarism is confirmed, the author(s) will be notified and provided with the evidence of misconduct.

Rejection or Retraction: The manuscript will be rejected if it is still in the submission process. If the plagiarized work has already been published, it will be retracted from the journal, and a notice of retraction will be issued.

Blacklisting: Authors found guilty of plagiarism may be prohibited from submitting future manuscripts to [Journal Name] for a specified period or indefinitely.

Reporting: The plagiarism incident may be reported to the authors' affiliated institutions, funding agencies, or other relevant entities for appropriate action.

Prevention and Education

We believe in fostering a culture of academic integrity and providing resources to educate authors about proper citation practices and the importance of originality. We encourage all authors to familiarize themselves with our guidelines on referencing and citation, and to use plagiarism detection tools to ensure their work is free from any unethical practices.
